Two more men have been charged with murder over the Adelaide High School fatal bashing of a man who police say was wrongly accused of being an informer.
Major Crime detectives and STAR Group officers arrested the two men at a Salisbury North house on Thursday afternoon.
The men, aged 23 and 29, have been charged with murder and were refused police bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police have now charged four men with the murder of Victor Codea, who died from head injuries sustained in the August 28 attack.
An Adelaide man, 24, who was the second to be arrested over Mr Codea’s death, appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody to face court in November.
SA Police detective Inspector Brett Featherby said police believed there were four men present when Mr Codea was seriously assaulted, including three who assaulted him and a fourth who “lured him there”.
Prosecutors have alleged the 24-year-old Ridleyton man was “set upon” by a group of men in a violent attack in the carpark at Adelaide High School.
Mr Codea was dropped off by a friend at Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he succumbed to head injuries on September 6. The four males left the scene in an older model sedan.
Mr Featherby said Mr Codea had made some “wrong decisions” in regards to his drug charges.
“We believe he has been wrongly accused of providing information to the police and unfortunately that’s cost him his life,” Mr Featherby said.
On August 29, a member of the public located Mr Codea’s phone at Mile End.
“We know Victor drove a white 2019 Toyota Corolla to the Welland Shopping Centre prior to the assault. Following the assault the vehicle was driven back to the Welland Shopping Centre where it was recovered by police.”
Investigations are ongoing, and police expect to make further arrests.
The Adelaide Magistrates Court lifted the secrecy order on Mr Codea’s identity, on Tuesday.
The Advertiser reported chilling posts were left on his Facebook page in the days after his death.
The posts referred to him as a “dog”, whose death was a result of “karma”.
His Facebook page also refers to him as being a “police informer”.
A 23-year-old man – whose identity remains suppressed – has faced court charged with his murder.
