The arrest of an eighth man for the murder of Jason De Ieso is the final piece of an eight-year investigation. The victim’s family are relieved but say there’s a long way to go.

An eighth and final person has been arrested over the shooting murder of innocent man Jason De Ieso at his Pooraka workshop in November, 2012.

Seywan Moradi, 33, from Walkley Heights, was charged with murder after being arrested at his home on Thursday morning.

He appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody to appear in court with his other co-accused.

The arrest is the final piece in a plan executed by Major Crime Detectives over the last 12 months, which has seen eight men charged with murder and another man charged with assisting an offender.

Mr De Ieso’s family said in a statement the arrest was a great relief but there was still a long road ahead.

“Since Jason’s death there were times that we thought no-one would be held to account for his murder,” the statement read.

“Today’s arrest is a great relief to our family and we look forward to this matter being dealt with by the courts.

“We understand that there is a long road ahead and appreciate the efforts of police to have progressed the investigation to this point.

“We recognise the efforts of Major Crime and Crime Gangs detectives in making the arrests that they have.

“Jason was an innocent person and his family and friends continue to suffer from his death.”

Security camera footage from Mr De Ieso’s workshop showed nine men approach the front of the business before opening fire and then running from the scene.

At least six of the men were carrying firearms.

Mr De Ieso, an innocent bystander in an escalating bikie war between the Hells Angels and the Finks, died at the scene.

The intended target of the shooting had left the workshop only minutes before the nine men arrived.

After more than six years of ongoing investigations, five men were arrested in direct connection with the slaying.

The five men initially arrested and charged with Mr De Ieso’s murder were brothers Husain Ali Alzuain, Mohammed Alzuain, Musa Ali Alzuain, and Daniel Mark Jalleh and Ross William Montgomery.

On the same day Jake Byron Martin-Herde, 31, of Salisbury Downs was charged with assisting an offender.

A warrant was issued for Kyle Lloyd Pryde who handed himself into police in Queensland after several weeks on the run.

In December police arrested Nicholas Sianis and charged him with murder, making him the seventh person to be charged over the slaying.

Police will allege all eight men were at the workshop during the shooting while the ninth man involved passed away in 2014.
