A man has been arrested over a southern suburbs crime spree in which he carjacked two drivers – one of whom he had been involved in a crash with – before attempting to flee police.
The chaos started when four cars crashed at the intersection of Belair Rd and Cross Rd at Kingswood about 11.45am on Friday.
Police said a man driving one of the vehicles pulled out the driver of a gold Holden Commodore sedan and stole the car, which was seen heading north on Unley Rd.
The Commodore sedan was involved in numerous traffic incidents before crashing into a tree at Warradale. Police will allege the man then approached a woman in a silver Toyota Rav4 at a hotel on Diagonal Rd and stole her car.
He travelled through the backstreets of Morphettville and on to Bray St, where the car was successfully spiked. The car came to a stop near the intersection of Cross Rd and Ray St at South Plympton.
Police chased the man on foot and arrested him on Lynton Ave. The 42-year-old was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he is being treated for minor injuries.
He is expected to be charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, engaging in a police pursuit and other serious driving offences.

POLICE LAUNCH NEW OPERATION THIS WEEKEND
Despite a lack of motorists on roads this weekend, police are reminding people to not become complacent this Anzac Day as they launch operation stop drink/drug driving.
Gatherings of more than 10 remain prohibited within the state but police remind people to drive safely when travelling to places close to home.
Police are encouraging people to stay home this weekend, but random breath tests will still be conducted.
Earlier this month, during operation safe long weekend Easter, police conducted 1510 alcohol breath tests and 222 drug tests through random mobile testing. Of those, 62 motorists were detected with alcohol in their system and 40 were detected positive to drugs.
Superintendent Bob Gray said police will still target dangerous drivers this weekend.
“If you absolutely have to drive, you must remember that road rules still apply to everyone with no exemptions,” Superintendent Gray said.
“Crash data indicates a strong proportion of crashes happen close to home, even to and from local shops.
“Our message to all South Australians this Anzac Day, and every other day during this situation, is to stay safe and stay home. This is for your sake and the sake of the community.”
Operation stop drink/drug driving will run on Saturday April 25 until midnight.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ENDANGERING LIVES ON ROADS
A Netherby man has been arrested for a series of dangerous driving incidents that occurred over the past two months in Adelaide's southeastern suburbs, which police say endangered both the driver and other road users.
Incidents include a blue Saab being driven erratically on Oaklands Rd Park Holme, where the car allegedly changed lanes in front of another driver before breaking heavily for no reason on February 18 just after 1pm.
It caused the other driver to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
A silver Volvo was reported to pass a vehicle on Old Belair Rd Mitcham nearly causing a collision. The Volvo stopped in the middle of the road, reversed, nearly colliding with the other vehicle before changing lanes to block the path of the other vehicles, on two occasions on February 29.
Another reported incident occurred on Wednesday April 15 at Waite Rd Urrbrae where the driver of a Saab reversed towards a pedestrian, who was crossing the road. The pedestrian had to take evasive action to avoid being struck by the Saab.
All incidents were reported to police and a 42-year-old Netherby man was arrested on Wednesday. The man was charged with four counts of driving in a dangerous manner and driving without care and attention. The blue Saab involved in some of the incidents was impounded for 28 days. The man was refused bail and appeared in court on Thursday where he was remanded in custody until May 4.
Inspector Damien Eichner said the actions of this person were highly irresponsible and not just a danger to other road users but also to himself.
“Dangerous driving to cause intimidation to other road users dramatically increases the risk of injury or death to the drivers, their passengers and other road users,” Inspector Eichner said.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and police ask that all road users take that responsibility seriously.”

A man shot in the face during a violent altercation is recovering in hospital after his car hit a tree and landed in a ditch at Waterloo Corner.
Another man – a 40-year-old from Salisbury – has been arrested over the alleged shooting and is expected to be charged with attempted murder.
The 43-year-old victim was found near his damaged car on Dunn Rd about 2.15am on Thursday and had facial injuries consistent with being shot, police say.
Officers then went to a house on Dunn Rd – almost opposite the crash site – and two occupants, believed to be a young couple, were inside. They are helping police with the investigation.
The victim, from Wall Flat on the River Murray, was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Hours later on Thursday morning, the suspect was arrested at a Marden home. He is being interviewed by police and is expected to be charged with attempted murder.
Earlier, the owner of the property related to the incident, Donato Belperio, told reporters he recognised the victim’s Holden Commodore.
“I don’t feel right, this is my house,” he said.
“Honestly (the people who rent out the home) don’t give me any trouble. (But) I’ve seen that car there before.”
Mr Belperio described the shooting as “shocking” and said “we hope (the victim will be okay) so he can say why (he was shot)”.
At the scene, investigators used a metal detector to search for shell casings in a grassed area.
Meanwhile, a woman sat in a police vehicle and was comforted by a pet dog that jumped into the back seat.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
