A Parafield Gardens man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder over the shooting and stabbing of another man at Renown Park.

Dong Minh Vo, 42, faced Adelaide Magistrates Court this week where he also pleaded not guilty to aggravated blackmail, possessing a firearm and failing to answer a question put by police.

A charge of blackmail and attempted murder was previously dropped against his former co-accused during an earlier appearance.

The charges were laid after an attack on December over which two men were arrested.

Court documents allege one man menaced Giau Van Nguyen “intending to get him to submit to a demand, namely payment of money” between November 27 and December 7.

Emergency services were called to an apartment complex on Torrens Rd just before 8.30am where the man was found bleeding profusely from a stab wound to his torso.

Blood stains were evident through the complex including a large amount on the porch of one apartment.

On June 10, counsel for Mr Vo handed up to Magistrate Lynette Duncan a written plea on behalf of his client.

He was remanded in custody to face court again in September.
