A Mid-North man has died and another is in hospital after a ute slammed into a tree in the Adelaide Hills.

A young man has died and another remains seriously injured after a ute slammed into a tree in a horror crash in the Adelaide Hills.
Police and emergency services were called to Morris Road at Meadows at around 2am on Sunday following reports of a Toyota ute ploughing into a tree.
The 28-year-old driver from the Mid North was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically died soon after.
His passenger, a 47-year-old Meadows man, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.
Morris Road was shut for several hours as Major Crash investigators combed the scene, but has since reopened.
His death marks the 38th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
