In an unrelated incident on Christmas Day, two boys were arrested after allegedly using a machete to rob a petrol station on Monday.

Police say the boys – aged 14 and 15 – entered a service station on Salisbury Highway, Salisbury about 4am.

One boy was allegedly armed with a machete and police say the pair threatened staff before fleeing with cash on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police say they attended the scene but could not find the boys.

But, after an investigation they attended addresses at Andrews Farm and Williamstown later in the morning and arrested the two boys.

The boys, a 15-year-old from Andrews Farm and a 14-year-old from Williamstown, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
