The Advertiser/7NEWS Adelaide: Tuesday, February 7, 2023

Police have arrested two men and are searching for a third after break-ins at two Lonsdale businesses.

Three men were captured on CCTV breaking in to shipping containers located at one of the businesses before moving on to the next.

The trio used an angle grinder to enter the containers and stole approximately 250m of thick copper cabling.

The men then broke in to the second business and stole 12 solar blankets and 2 inverters.

A 32-year-old man was located at a Happy Valley home on Monday morning and was arrested following an investigation by southern district police.

It is alleged that he was in the process of stripping the copper wiring at the time.

Later that day, police arrested a 39-year-old man after finding the stolen inverters at his Morphett Vale property.

They were refused bail and appeared in the Christies Beach magistrates court on Tuesday.

This comes after five teenagers were arrested after stealing a taxi and crashing into a tree in Adelaide’s north in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 4am, police were called to Petherton Rd at Andrews Farm to reports of a vehicle accident.

Officers reviewed CCTV footage of the crash and saw five youths running from the scene.

A 12-year-old girl from Trinity Gardens, a 12-year-old boy from Greenacres, a 13-year-old girl from Brompton, a 14-year-old girl from Andrews Farm and a 15-year-old girl from Salisbury were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle.
