A police patrol has found two men allegedly trying to steal mail from an Australia Post letter box in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.

Two men have been charged allegedly trying to steal mail from an Australia Post letter box using a homemade “fishing” device.
A SAPOL patrol caught the men standing shoulder to shoulder in front of a letter box along Diagonal Rd in Oaklands Park about 10:50pm on Sunday.
Officers stopped and spoke to the men allegedly finding the homemade device – which consisted of string and a metal plate with double-sided tape attached – lodged in the letterbox.
A 42-year-old Daw Park man and a 34-year-old Seaford Rise man were arrested and charged with attempt theft of mail.
Police searched a Daw Park home on Monday, allegedly finding another homemade “fishing” device and around 200kg of copper wire – along with a motorcycle which police suspect has been stolen.
The two men may face further charges.
They were refused bail and appeared in court on Monday.
