Friends and family of a young woman who died after a suspected drug overdose in her northern Adelaide home have gathered to farewell her at a service in Victoria today.
Touching tributes for Amy Lee Bowden, 26, were held as loved ones gathered in Williamstown, Victoria to pay their respects.
Ms Bowden, who was raised in Victoria, tragically died in her Redwood Park home last month from a suspected drug overdose.
Her partner Ethan Ross has since been charged with administering a controlled drug after allegedly injecting her with methamphetamine in an attempt to counteract the heroin she had overdosed on.
Remembered as a fun, loving and bright young lady, friends paid tribute to the 26-year-old through the funeral organisations website.
“Words simply cannot express my sorrow for the loss of your beautiful Amy,” one woman posted.
“She was taken way to soon in life and deserved so much better. She will live on in all our hearts forever.”
“I’ll miss Amy forever, she touched so many lives in the best way,” friend Mia wrote.
“Thank you to the family for bringing up such a ray of sunshine to so many people, she will never be forgotten. Sending so much love and light to your family.”
Ms Bowden’s family, who reside in Victoria, have since received an outpouring of love and support from friends who have posted tributes to Facebook.
“A beautiful angel, loved so deeply by all who knew her,” one friend wrote.
Mr Ross remains in custody after his bail application was refused due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.
In documents released to The Advertiser by the Elizabeth Magistrates Court, SA Police allege he had texted a known drug dealer asking for meth to “pick (Amy) up” after a heroin overdose.
Following his arrest, the court heard Mr Ross, 27, was working as a cyber security engineer and had previously lived with Ms Bowden interstate before bringing her to South Australia to help her overcome a drug addiction.
Mr Ross will return to court in June.
