The fiance of social influencer and reality TV star Maria Di Geronimo spat at another man, with his saliva hitting the victim on the arm, a court has heard.
On Thursday, the case Carlos Bruno Vannini was listed for hearing in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
However, Mr Vannini was excused from attending and his lawyer, Andrew Williams, appeared by phone.
“I’ve written to the prosecution asking for disclosure (of the alleged evidence),” he said.
“I’m asking this court for an adjournment so I can receive that.”
Mr Vannini, 39, of Golden Grove, has yet to plead to one count of committing a prohibited act with biological material.
Court documents allege the offence occurred at Nailsworth on January 22 this year.
Mr Vannini, a barber, is engaged to Ms Di Geronimo, a social media influencer first known for her time on the “Yummy Mummies” reality TV show.
Earlier this month, the couple threw a 7th birthday party for their daughter, Valentina, featuring a designer cake and gifts from luxury brands Tiffany & Co and Gucci.
SA Police documents, filed with the court, allege Mr Vannini “spit at” a man and “the spit hit the victim in his left forearm”.
On Thursday, Magistrate Kym Millard granted the adjournment.
The matter will return to court next month.
