What Coronation? King Charles III and Queen Camilla?
On Saturday, it was all about a little princess called Valentina turning seven for Adelaide’s Yummy Mummies star Maria Di Geronimo.
If you’re thinking a jumping castle and toy tiaras, you’re wrong.
This was a children’s party like no other and, frankly, we’re worried about how Di Geronimo and her fiance Carlos Vannini are going to be able to go one better for Valentina’s eighth birthday, let alone her 18th.
Just seeing happy snaps from this celebration – shared by Di Geronimo with her more than half a million followers on Instagram – has ruined us for every other birthday bash.
Speaking exclusively to The Advertiser, Di Geronimo said Valentina insisted on blowing up her own balloons which had a rainbow theme.
“She knows what she wants,” Di Geronimo said, adding: “She wanted to be part of it.”
And forget about the Dolly Varden and Swimming Pool from The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book.
Valentina’s cake was a fairytale castle adorned with a gold V and filigree, which wouldn’t have looked out of place at Posh’n’Becks’ OTT 1999 wedding at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland.
For those playing along at home, the AWW cookbook also has a Castle for a Princess cake, with towers made from waffle cones.
Valentina’s dress was by Purple Pips from Little Elegance Boutique, which is open by appointment at Semaphore Park.
While we couldn’t see the exact design online – because it was a one-of-a-kind creation – there was a $1,295.00 dress called Valentina.
Di Geronimo also shared pics of Valentina opening her present in a little blue pouch from Tiffany & Co. – diamond earrings, which her parents gave her because she had been wanting to wear her mum’s.
With a Chanel handbag also featuring in the photos – where Valentina’s parents were dressed in Gucci – the party was high-end.
It was a sleepover with a glamorous glamping-style set-up and huge video screen for watching Disney movies – Valentina even wore pink pyjamas by Louis Vuitton with a matching headband.
“It was amazing,” Di Geronimo said, adding of birthday parties and children themselves: “It’s the one day of the year you can celebrate the greatest gifts you have.”
