Adelaide’s Maria Di Geronimo has rejected an offer to return to reality TV series Yummy Mummies, as she and her new agent, celebrity king of spin Max Markson, explore other opportunities.
Maria, who initially left Yummy Mummies after the first season, says she was sounded out by Seven to appear on the third series but in consultation with Max, she has declined the approach.
“Personally I don’t have any interest … that particular show doesn’t pertain to our real life,” Maria, above, tells Confidential.
“It doesn’t make sense, it’s not based on real life. It doesn’t really suit us.
“We want to go down the path of our own show perhaps on a different network altogether. Then we are free to be ourselves.”
Maria recently signed up with ‘agent-to-the-stars’ Max, who has represented big names including Shane Warne, Tziporah Malkah, Cassandra Thorburn and Lara Bingle.
Former Celebrity Apprentice star Max says mother-of-one Maria is a “thoroughly entertaining and engaging personality”.
“She has incredible cut-through with her Instagram following …. She gets a bigger response per capita than even Kim Kardashian and her sisters and family,” says Max of Maria’s 463,000 Instagram followers.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Maria and her family doing more Australia wide and international TV shows … who knows, it could be Keeping Up With The Di Geronimos coming soon to a TV screen near you soon.”
Maria, her fiance Carlos Vannini and her mother Margherita were the biggest stars on the first season of Yummy Mummies in 2017.
But it wasn’t until streaming giant Netflix picked up the reality TV series earlier this year that her fame went global.
Her Instagram following has increased by over 400,000 in about two months and she receives hundreds of messages daily from all over the globe, many asking about her almost three-year old daughter Valentina.
Maria will be a guest judge at the Miss World SA state final at Sfera’s Park Suites and Convention Centre on Friday night, where she says the focus is on “beauty with a purpose”.
