An alleged Comanchero bikie will spend the weekend in custody after two meetings with fellow gang members.

Four alleged Comanchero bikies were arrested – one twice – and a motorbike and car seized after the meetings at a cafe and a public area last month.

One of them – a 46-year-old Christies Beach man – appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday where he made no application for bail.

Police allege two men first entered a licensed cafe at Noarlunga Centre on Wednesday, June 19, wearing clothing identifying themselves as members of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).

Following an investigation by Serious and Organised Crime Branch, two men – the 46-year-old and a 27-year-old from Noarlunga Downs – were arrested and charged with wearing a prohibited item in a licensed premises.

The Christies Beach man was refused police bail to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.

The Noarlunga Downs man was granted police bail to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court in August.

Then on Saturday, June 22, three men police allege are known members of the Comanchero gathered together in a public place at Glenelg.

A 38-year-old from Aldinga Beach and two men from Christies Beach aged 36 and 46 were arrested.

They have all been charged with being participants of a criminal organisation present in a public place with two other participants of a criminal organisation.

The 36-year-old and the 38-year old were granted police bail to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court in October.

A motorcycle and car have been seized and will be subject to confiscation proceedings, following searches across metropolitan Adelaide this week.

South Australian law prohibits three or more participants of a criminal organisation to be present in a public place, with a maximum penalty of three years imprisonment.

Detective Chief Inspector David Huddy, who is in Charge of Crime Gangs Task Force, said the state’s police force was “committed to policing criminal gangs”, to keep the community safe.

“The arrests and seizures send a message to those involved with criminal gangs, such as Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Group, that SA Police are committed to investigating their unlawful activities and holding them to account when offences are detected,” Mr Huddy said.
