The North-South Motorway has reopened to traffic after a car rolled early on Tuesday morning, causing delays and leading to some dangerous manoeuvres by impatient drivers.
At 6.45am, emergency services were alerted to a crash on the motorway at Dry Creek with reports a car was on its roof.
All three lanes for northbound traffic towards Bolivar were closed, just north of the Port River Expressway.
The road reopened to traffic several hours later and no serious injuries were reported.
But police appealed to motorists to be patient with reports of hazardous moves on the on-ramp.
SA Police Senior Constable Jen Cullinan told FIVEaa drivers were attempting dangerous moves to avoid the traffic jam.
“We’ve got reports people are trying to reverse from the on-ramp,” she said.
“They probably see the standing traffic and they think that’s a wise idea for some reason, I don’t know why because it’s extremely dangerous and stupid.”
She said it was hoped traffic would clear to normal levels with the road reopened and a tow-truck on the way.
Police and emergency services are responding to a single vehicle crash on the North South Motorway, Dry Creek.
