Police probe serious crash at Seacliff Park, as motorcyclist fights for life after collision at Paralowie

A young woman has sustained serious injuries after her car smashed into a Stobie pole at Seacliff Park on Sunday night. It follows another serious crash at Paralowie the night before.

Police are investigating a crash at Seacliff Park on Sunday night that saw a woman taken to hospital with serious injuries.

About 9pm, authorities were called to Brighton Rd to reports a car had crashed into a Stobie pole.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Hackham woman, was taken by ambulance to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Brighton Rd was closed to southbound traffic until her vehicle was towed from the scene around 11pm.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam vision that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.

It comes as a motorcyclist is fighting for life in hospital after he crashed into a roundabout in the northern suburbs on Saturday night,

About 8.45pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Burton Rd and Whites Rd at Paralowie after reports a motorbike had crashed.

The rider, a 29-year-old Mawson Lakes man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the RAH.

The intersection was closed for several hours while major crash detectives investigated the scene.

It was reopened around midnight.

Meanwhile, a cyclist has died after a crash a month ago at Happy Valley.

Just after 5pm on November 25 emergency services were called to Chandlers Hill Rd after a crash between a cyclist and a Honda CRV.

The cyclist, a 55-year-old Happy Valley man, was rushed to Flinders Medical Centre with critical injuries.

He died from his injuries on Saturday.

The driver, a 66-year-old Happy Valley man, was not injured, but was taken to hospital where he had a blood sample taken for analysis.

The man’s death is the 66th life lost on SA roads this year compared with 93 at the same time last year.
