The 19-year-old Mannum man who died in a shocking crash on the outskirts of Murray Bridge on Wednesday has been identified as car enthusiast Paul Anderson.
His mother, Teresa Law, is organising the funeral for her only child who was on his way to work near Murray Bridge when his life was taken.
“No one should have to go through the pain of losing (sic) a child and as I can only think to describe the pain and heartache must be unimaginable,” Ms Law’s cousin Nicole McFarlane wrote on GoFundMe.
The Advertiser understands he worked at the Swanport Hotel.
Social media accounts show his appreciation for the Holden involved in the crash and competing in Khanacross events in the car – a small rallysprint timed event held on an unsealed circuit.
Emergency services were called to Pfeiffer Rd at Brinkley, about 16km south of Murray Bridge, around 5.10pm on Wednesday after a Ford ute travelling east and a Holden Commodore travelling west collided.
Mr Anderson died at the scene while the driver of the Ford, a 46-year-old local man was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The young man’s death is the 37th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
