Worker threatened with knife in Adelaide’s CBD after armed robbery at Hackham pub
A worker was threatened with a knife, then had drink cans hurled at him, after bravely approaching a group of thieves at a CBD convenience store overnight.

A group of men threw cans at a worker after threatening him with a knife in Adelaide’s CBD.
Two men left without paying for soft drinks at the convenience store on Franklin St about 5.30pm Sunday. But when a staff member followed and confronted two of them outside the store, a third man threatened the worker with a knife.
The two other men then returned to the store and began throwing cans at the worker.
The staff member was not physically injured in the ordeal.
Police attended and searched the area but could not find the suspects.
The man armed with a knife is described as being Aboriginal, wearing all black while the other two are described as being Aboriginal aged 30 and 50 wearing hooded tops.
It follows a robbery at a Hackham hotel on Saturday night
Just before 11pm, police were called to a hotel on Main South Rd following reports two men had stolen alcohol from the premises.
The pair were confronted as they attempted to leave and allegedly assaulted a staff member, stealing a watch and mobile phone.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The suspects fled on foot and shortly after officers attended a Huntfield Heights address where they arrested a 22-year-old man.
He has been charged with robbery, refused bail and is expected to attend the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on July 18.
Investigations are continuing to identify the outstanding suspect.
It follows a similar incident last month when man armed with a knife entered the Prince of Wales Hotel on Port Rd, at Queenstown, and threatened staff and stole cash, before fleeing.
And in January, a popular hotel in Adelaide’s northeast was robbed at gunpoint.
Two men entered the gaming area of the OG Hotel on North East Rd Thursday, one armed with a firearm. The pair threatened staff and stole cash before fleeing on foot.
That followed two other knifepoint robberies at South Rd hotels the previous month.
