Police say a man missing for four days has a medical condition, as search efforts intensify.
Family of 27-year-old Wynn Vale man, Tyson, hold grave concerns for his welfare after he left his home in Adelaide’s outer northeast about 5pm on Sunday and never returned.
He travelled to Mount Gambier on Monday evening and has visited a number of businesses in the regional city in recent days.
Speaking to media outside the Mount Gambier police station, Officer in Charge of the Limestone Coast Superintendent Campbell Hill said Tyson had a “medical condition”.
Supt Hill said Tyson was believed to be travelling alone and confirmed he was not wanted in relation to any criminal investigation.
It is understood Tyson travelled to Mount Gambier via bus on Monday, before visiting a number of retail stores and renting a car from the Mount Gambier airport.
CCTV images from Bunnings, as well as Big W from the Mount Gambier Marketplace, have been shared with the public.
“Concerningly the last known sighting that we have of Tyson -- was the time that he was at Mount Gambier airport,” Supt Hill said.
Supt Hill called on the public to check any dashcam footage they have, especially if they were in the Mount Gambier region between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Monday.
“If people seen you know, a white car parked somewhere that’s out of the ordinary or that’s not normally parked somewhere, again, that is not insignificant,” he said.
Police are working with Victorian police and have not ruled out the man could have used Mount Gambier as a stop-over point for further travel.
Supt Hill did not specify how many police had been assigned to finding Tyson, but said additional officers had been brought down from Adelaide.
Police and SES volunteers are involved in an extensive and ongoing search of the Mount Gambier area.
Tyson is caucasian, slim build, 175cm, tall, with short dark hair and a beard.
He is believed to be driving a white 2023 Suzuki Vitara with registration S508CWC.
Police have asked anyone who may have seen him in the area since Monday or has any information on his whereabouts to contact the police assistance line immediately on 131 444.
Police also ask anyone who may have captured him or his vehicle on CCTV or dashcam footage to please review that footage and provide any information to police.
Limestone Coast Police officer in charge Superintendent Campbell Hill will hold a press conference this morning to appeal for the public’s assistance.
