A man has booked a court date after he was allegedly busted drunk and unlicensed while driving through a fast food drive-thru in Port Lincoln on Thursday.

At 8pm, police responded to the call and located the driver – a 25-year-old man from France – with two passengers.

The man returned a positive alcohol reading of 0.141.

He was arrested and charged with drink driving and driving unlicensed.

He was issued with a 12-month loss of licence and the vehicle was impounded and was set to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on Friday.

It comes after a driver lost her licence yesterday when she was caught drink driving after trying to avoid a testing station in Goolwa.

Police had set up a driver testing station on Hutchinson St at Goolwa when they attempted to stop a vehicle at 5pm on Thursday.

The driver ignored the direction to stop and drove around the site.

A 37-year-old Port Elliott woman submitted to a breath test where she provided a positive reading of 0.278 – more than five times over the legal limit.

She was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

She was also issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence and her car was impounded for 28 days.
