Driver of a stolen Holden Cruze deliberately hits patrol car to escape police pursuit

Police allege a driver deliberately crashed into a patrol car while trying to escape a pursuit.

The driver of a stolen Holden deliberately crashed into a police car in the early hours of this morning after being pursued by patrols.

About 1.10am this morning police spotted the stolen Silver Holden Cruze sedan in Manuel Ave, Blair Athol and attempted to apprehend the driver.

The sedan sped off with police pursuing in an easterly direction, eventually turning into a dead-end street in Robinson Place at Enfield.

The trapped driver of the sedan then deliberately reversed into the police car twice before speeding off again.

The stolen car was later discovered abandoned in Truscott Rd, Enfield.

The police officer in the patrol car was not injured.
