Driver arrested after refusing to stop for police results in high speed chase in northern suburbs

Police engaged in a high speed chase overnight calling on PolAir to help track the speeding vehicle.

A driver has been arrested after he failed to stop his speeding vehicle resulting in a high speed chased with Polair tracking the vehicle from above.

On Friday night, after 7pm police spotted a Holden sedan speeding on Peachey Rd, Davenport Park.

Police patrols initially attempted to apprehend the driver but they lost sight of the vehicle after the alleged offender sped off.

Police Air was called in to assist from above and they were able to track the Holden along Diment Rd Burton, Beagle St, Bolivar Rd and Burton Rd.

The driver stopped the vehicle on Alan Cres and surrendered to police.

Patrols successfully arrested the 25-year-old man from Salisbury Plain and charged him with failure to stop and disqualified driving.

The man has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on January 12.

The vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.
