The owner of a southern suburbs electrical business has faced court accused of secretly taking “invasive” images of multiple women – and distributing them online.

Heath Chance Mason, 46, appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Tuesday following his December arrest when he was charged with four counts of distributing invasive images. He is yet to enter any pleas.

Hugh Woods, for Mr Mason, asked Magistrate Briony Kennewell to adjourn the matter after prosecution submitted “further evidence had disclosed” pending major indictable offences in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

“They’re (the charges) related in relationship – in nature,” a police prosecutor said. “These may be absorbed into the major indictable file, Your Honour.”

Mr Mason first appeared in court earlier this year after he was arrested by SA’s elite JACET officers in December.

Defence counsel for Mr Mason asked Ms Kennewell to remove a restriction in their client’s current bail agreement prohibiting him from accessing the internet.

Mr Mason, the owner of Aldinga and Surrounds Electrical, “relies on the internet to do his work,” they said in January.

At the time of his arrest, Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Lyons said there was a “significant quantity of digital evidence to be reviewed”.

“Our specialists are working tirelessly to identify women who may be victims of this alleged offending,” Mr Lyons said.

On Tuesday, Ms Kennewell adjourned the matter to next month – aligning with Mr Mason’s appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court – and remanded the businessman on continuing bail.
