Future Strikers will be on show as the annual Sapsasa Cricket Carnival takes over the suburban grounds across Adelaide in November.
For the first time – and as part of our longstanding partnership with School Sport SA – KommunityTV cameras will be on the boundary line to capture the action from select matches across the girls and boys carnivals.
The exclusive coverage of the Sapsasa Cricket Carnivals, which features regional and district representative sides made up of students in Year 5-6, will include all matches from one venue across both weeks of competition.
The girls’ action will kickstart the two-week tournament from November 7-9, with KommunityTV’s broadcast to include every match from Largs Oval North. See the girls schedule below.

School Sport SA school sport officer Daniel Hornhardt said the Sapsasa Cricket Carnival had been a rite of passage for aspiring cricketers across the state.
“It is almost a striving point for young cricketers, it is a chance to represent on a district level beyond their school and local club,” Hornhardt said.
“This is one of the first representative stages in that school sporting environment, and it means a lot to the kids. The name Sapsasa has certainly been carried on through the generations of kids through the years.
“I have no doubt there has been a heap of names that have progressed through Sapsasa to the higher levels of the game. A very high percentage of schools across the state are engaged in the School Sport SA programs, so there wouldn’t be many young cricketers who haven’t been part of this carnival at some stage.”
Hornhardt said partnering with KommunityTV to live stream the competition for the first time was an exciting opportunity for the young athletes especially the families of country representatives who might not be able to make the journey to Adelaide for the week.
The coverage of the Sapsasa Cricket Carnival extends a proud partnership between News Corp Australia and School Sport SA, which has included annual coverage of the Sapsasa Metro Football and Netball Carnivals, Sapsasa Country Football and Netball Carnivals and the School Sport SA Awards Night.
