Live stream: Barossa Valley determined to win gold at SA Junior Country Championships Under-18

As they approach the end of their juniors journey, Barossa Valley are determined to leave a lasting impression of their talent. Catch them LIVE at this weekend’s SA Country U18 Championships.

Barossa Valley’s boys side will enter the SA Country Basketball Under-18 Championships this weekend with one goal.

Win it all.

The boys from the wine country have been on a tear in recent months, gaining much-needed momentum in their regional tournaments as they built towards the country titles end goal.

The under-18 championships will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV and The Advertiser, with the coverage including every game from two courts on Saturday and Sunday.

While the Barossa side will face some stiff competition in the form of Mount Gambier, Eastern Hills and reigning champions Millcent Magic, coach Ben MacCulloch said they had targeted a gold medal finish after last year’s grand final disappointment.

“Ultimately, winning the Country Championships is the goal for the team and for myself,” he said.

“We know there will be a lot of strong teams though and we’re not going to take anyone, or the tournament in general, for granted.

“It’s something that doesn’t come along every year and the boys are really hungry to win.

“Going all the way through from U12s to 14s to 18s, this is their last hurrah at that junior level. They’ve been pretty successful so far, but they want that added bit of success this weekend.”

The side, led by state top-agers Hudson Lindner, Aidan Schubert and Coehn Scaife, will head into the championships having won both the Murray Bridge and Port Augusta carnivals this year.

The SA Country Basketball Under-18s Championships coverage will include every match from Court 1 and Court 4 at the new-look State Basketball Centre, with the action kicking off from 9am, Saturday.
