Port Adelaide vice-captain Ollie Wines says this Power team is as good as any he’s played in
POWER vice-captain Ollie Wines thinks the current Port Adelaide crop is the equal of any he has been a part of since joining the club in 2013. And the players believe a top-two finish is not out of the question.

PORT Adelaide vice-captain Ollie Wines has nominated this year’s Power side the equal of any he has been part of since joining the club in 2013.
His call comes as the club is seeking its fifth win in a row, a feat not achieved since the club clocked up eight straight during the 2014 season and opened 2013 with five wins in succession.
It has led to the players considering not just a top-four spot, which would be cemented with a win against the Saints this weekend, but a top-two finish at the end of the home-and-away season.
Wines believed a cornerstone of the club’s improvement had come the obvious experience brought in from interstate, ready-made players, who now also have had enough time to gel.
“We’d rather be in this position than outside the eight,” Wines said on FIVEaa.
“That is the carrot at the end of it, if we were able to play well enough, execute what we want to do, there’s an opportunity to finish top-two, top-four, play finals.
“Definitely (this is as good a side as I’ve played in).
“And I think a part of that is our maturity.
“We’ve come a long way. We’ve got a few more games under our belts and then obviously we’ve added some more experience in these guys who have come from other clubs at the end of last season.
“We’ve added guys probably over the past three-four years. You think of the guys not just this year but Paddy Ryder, Charlie Dixon.
“(But) guys coming from other clubs, that just doesn’t gel overnight.
“These things take time.”
