PORT Adelaide will have high-profile Melbourne recruit Jack Watts back in its attack for the home clash with St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
For the first time since recruiting Watts, the No. 1 pick in the 2006 national draft, and former Melbourne captain Jack Trengove, the No. 2 pick in the 2009 national draft, the Power will have the two ex-Demons in the same AFL line-up rather than in the SANFL.
Watts is among four changes - two forced - to the Port Adelaide 22 who beat Carlton by 21 points at the MCG on Saturday.
Coach Ken Hinkley has recalled Watts and forgiven club-banned defender Darcy Byrne-Jones. He has regained in-form defender Tom Jonas (hamstring) and opted for another look at Aidyn Johnson.
These four replace injured pair Sam Gray (ankle) and Jasper Pittard (hamstring) and dismissed duo, forward Todd Marshall and defender Jack Hombsch in the 22 for the Saturday twilight game.
Watts last played for the Power in the June 8 win against AFL premier Richmond at Adelaide Oval. He worked in the SANFL for the past three weeks with Hinkley wanted to see “greater intensity” in his work, particularly in marking contests.
Marshall is listed as dropped from the AFL line-up, despite signs of the teenager playing with a battered shoulder in the past month.
Bryne-Jones was banned by the Power leadership group for being 45 minutes to a training session at Alberton last week. His recall has not forced Trengove out of the line-up, allowing the former Melbourne skipper to play his second AFL game with the Power since being delisted by the Demons in October.
