RICHMOND

THREE TO WATCH

Dustin Martin ($656,000): Can Dusty go again? He’s high priced but capable of backing up his perfect 2017. Nigh untaggable now with his ability to play inside mid, hurt you on the outside or push forward and kick a bag of goals.

Alex Rance ($492,300): The AFL’s best key defender and a safe bet in SuperCoach. Finished with an average of 89 in 2017 which is slightly down on his best. Underpriced?

Toby Nankervis ($488,30): The Nank was a SuperCoach favourite last year but sadly at that price is not worth the risk. Has lost his Ruck-Fwd dual position eligibility to boot.

ST KILDA

THREE TO WATCH

David Armitage ($310,100): The tough midfielder could manage only two games in 2017 and is available at a big discount. Averaged 109 in 2016 and 90-plus in the two years before that.

Shane Savage ($479,700): Had a slow start to the year only playing four of the first 10 games but finally established himself from Round 16 and averaged 100 in the final eight games.

Jack Billings ($509,500): Has the young Saint finally arrived? Billings increased his SuperCoach average from a previous best of 84 to 92 with 13 scores of 90-plus.

SYDNEY SWANS

THREE TO WATCH

Dan Hannebery ($535,100): Throw in Kennedy and Parker here as well. The Swans’ star was down on his usual output after an interrupted pre-season. He’s fit and firing this year and should bounce back to his very best.

Lance Franklin ($540,500): Buddy finished 2017 with a bang, scoring 164, 98 and 183 in the final three weeks to lift his season average from 90 to 98. Finished with nine tons on the season.

Callum Mills ($403,100): Is this the year Mills finally makes his way into the Swans’ midfield? Was a bit of a disappointment in 2017. A high risk option in 2018.

WEST COAST

THREE TO WATCH

Elliot Yeo ($561,300): A career year in 2017 saw the Eagle average 102. His previous best was just 82. Can he back it up? Could be a burn man at that price.

Josh Kennedy ($514,200): Do you accept the 40s when the Eagles’ spearhead can pump out 170s? A rollercoaster ride, Kennedy averaged 93 with just six tons to his name.
Nic Naitanui ($465,900): Along with Max Gawn, Nic Nat is set to be the most popular ruck choice. Has fully recovered from his knee reconstruction and is ready to go in Round 1.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

THREE TO WATCH

Luke Dahlhaus ($498,500): Played through injury last year and it saw his average fall to 90.7. However, a fit and firing Dahlhaus is one of the safest SuperCoach forwards available.

Marcus Bontempelli ($577,800): As reliable as they come but didn’t hit the highs of 2016 last year. Scored 11 tons in 22 games and is arguably underpriced in 2018.

Jason Johannisen ($450,800): A bit of a high risk, high reward pick. Was averaging 90 before being roughed up by Sydney and his season imploded from there.
