A teenager is due to appear in court after a boy was stabbed at a popular Adelaide Park.

A teenager will appear in court on Monday charged with stabbing a boy at a popular Adelaide Park.

Emergency services responded to reports of an assault at Fremont Park, on Main North Road, Elizabeth Park, just after 3.30pm on Sunday.

Police found the 12-year-old boy had been stabbed in the leg at the northern suburbs park, which is near the popular Elizabeth Shopping Centre.

He was rushed to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Elizabeth CIB detectives on Sunday night charged a 13-year-old Elizabeth Downs boy with assault cause harm.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court.

Police were on Sunday night hunting a second suspect who fled the scene.

“They are believed to be known to the victim and this was not a random incident,” a police spokeswoman said earlier.
