A fourth teen in only one week has faced court after he was charged over a spate of robberies across the western suburbs last week,
The 16-year-old boy, from Devon Park, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared via video link at the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday.
Court documents released to The Advertiser allege the teen entered into a bail agreement on January 24.
He has been charged with nine counts of criminal trespass and theft and breach of bail.
The boy was arrested in the early hours of Sunday at a Mile End address in relation to the break-in at a Croydon Park bakery and a fast food shop at Woodville.
Police allege the youth was also involved in several break-ins on Sunday, February 4 – including food outlets at Torrensville, Croydon Park and Kilkenny, and two service stations at Blair Athol and Northfield.
The 16-year-old was charged with a total of nine counts of criminal trespass and theft and breach of bail.
He will next appear in the Adelaide Youth Court later this month.
This comes after three boys fronted court on Thursday over the spate of unrelated break-ins – two of which were remanded in custody.
The charged teens, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court on Thursday.
The 14-year-old boy, from Devon Park, made an application for home detention bail with Magistrate Michael Jandy ordering a report to assess the eligibility.
A police prosecutor said he opposed the application due to the seriousness and prevalence of the alleged offending.
“(He’s) highly likely to breach bail conditions,” he said.
“In the event that he is bailed, even on electronic monitoring or home detention bail, it will be prosecutions position that he is a strong candidate to cut and run.
“It’s highly likely he will reoffend straight away.”
Police arrested the three youths, aged 14 and 15, after multiple small businesses were broken into and their tills stolen across three different shopping centres during an overnight crime spree in the early hours of Wednesday, from the Brickworks up to Greenwith and Para Hills.
Four businesses were broken into at the Brickworks in Torrensville, with the others at Highland Valley Shopping Centre in Greenwith and at a Para Hills shopping centre.
