Opposition Leader Vincent Tarzia’s state election lead-up just got a whole lot busier – but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He and wife Charissa will in July welcome their second child – a little brother or sister for three-year-old Leonardo.
Mr Tarzia said the family is overjoyed at the news of the new arrival.
“We were over the moon when we found out Charissa was pregnant, and Leonardo is very excited about becoming an older brother,” he said.
“Having a child is a blessing – it feels like just yesterday that Leonardo was born but I’m thrilled that our family is growing.
“This year is already shaping up to be a busy one but I wouldn’t have it any other way, and couldn’t be happier to embrace the beautiful chaos of a growing family.”
Mrs Tarzia, a Flinders University law lecturer, said the couple have found out the gender of the new baby but are keeping it as a surprise for their family and friends.
She said she has been enjoying setting up the nursery and making preparations before the start of the university semester.
“It’s been so nice for me to be slowly setting up, seeing everything and reminiscing about that time with Leonardo,” she said.
“Leonardo loves to say ‘my baby’, he’ll put his hands on my belly and say ‘good morning baby’. He’s been telling everyone the big news.”
