Two people arrested after investigation into abandoned wreck on Eyre Peninsula

A Western Australian man and woman have been arrested after a crashed SUV was found on the Eyre Peninsula last week.

Two people have been arrested after an investigation into a wrecked SUV which was left abandoned on the Eyre Peninsula on Wednesday.

A 20-year-old Western Australian woman and 39-year-old Western Australian man were arrested after police found the pair at a business on McKenzie St, Ceduna at around 5pm on Friday.

The woman was charged with illegal use of motor vehicle and the man was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, stating false personal details, dangerous driving, speeding and assault.

They were both refused bail and will appear in the Ceduna Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police had raised concerns for the welfare of a man and woman after a blue Mitsubishi ASX they were allegedly driving was found crashed on the Eyre Highway at Mudamuckla, 35km from Ceduna around 4.30am on Wednesday morning.

Police had spoken with the occupants of the car on Tuesday at a car wash on Kuhlmann St in Ceduna.
