SA and Adelaide weather forecast: Rain and strong winds set to hit the state

South Australia is being lashed with rain and strong winds as authorities say severe weather warnings for the weekend are possible.
Adelaide will see rainfall of up to 15mm on Thursday with a chance of a severe thunderstorm in the late morning and afternoon.
The city will see a top of 14C for Thursday with winds north to north-westerly of up to 40km/h turning westerly up to 35km/h in the late afternoon.
“There’s a front moving through with gusty showers and a chance of thunderstorms,” Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Tina Donaldson said.
And into the weekend, the winds will be “quite widespread”.
Severe weather warnings “could be” issued for Saturday as the Bureau monitors the situation.
Across the weekend, temperatures will not top 16C.
Elsewhere in the state, in the Hills, Mount Barker will see a top of 12C for Thursday with a very high chance of showers.
The top for the weekend will be 14C with a very high chance of showers.
And in Stirling there will be rainfall of up to 25mm on Friday and Saturday with a top of 11C and 12C.
In Port Augusta the mercury will reach 17C for Thursday and with a top of 19C on Saturday for the rest of the week.
Port Pirie will see a very high chance of showers on Thursday with a top for the week of 18C on Saturday
