Teens and 12-year-old arrested over aggravated motorcycle robbery in CBD

Two teenagers and a 12-year-old boy have been arrested after a motorcyclist was allegedly threatened with a knife and his bike was stolen in the CBD on Friday morning.

An 18-year-old man, 16-year-old boy and 12-year-old boy have been arrested following an aggravated robbery in the city on Friday morning.

A 25-year-old Parkside man was allegedly threatened with a knife and his motorcycle stolen just after 5am on Friday.

A white car allegedly approached a stationary motorcyclist at the Pulteney St and South Tce intersection.

Two men left the vehicle, one in possession of a knife, and proceeded to threaten the motorcyclist, allegedly kicking him and stealing the bike.

One man took off on the victim’s bike, a white Honda CB125E and the fled the scene in the white car, believed to be a small station wagon or hatchback.

Both suspects were seen heading west on South Tce and were described as caucasian, one wearing a balaclava and the other a hoodie.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

Following an investigation, about 12.00pm police went to a home on Alexander Ave at Campbelltown where they arrested the two teenagers and the boy.

The 18-year-old from Campbelltown, 16-year-old from Alberton and 12-year-old from Campbelltown are expected to be charged with a number of serious offences.

A 17-year-old Mile End boy was also located at the home, and checks revealed he was wanted for breach of bail. He is expected to be charged with breach of bail and property offences.

A machete was recovered at the Campbelltown scene. At the property police also allegedly located the victim’s stolen Honda, a motorbike and scooter suspected of being stolen, and the white Lexus allegedly used by the suspects in the robbery.

The Lexus had been stolen from an Athelstone address between Thursday night and Friday morning.

SA Police Assistant Commissioner Stuart McLean said it is unknown if the car was stolen but he is confident authorities will make an “early arrest”.

“This is very concerning, someone should be able to move right through the city at any time of the day,” he said.

“We do have details in relation to that vehicle registration number, which we’re currently investigating and following up, so I’m confident that our inquiries will result in early arrest.”

Meanwhile, gang task force detectives will investigate the arrests of four males, including a teen in Adelaide’s north on Thursday afternoon.

Police located multiple knifes while responding to two incidents at Elizabeth.

The task force was first implemented in July 2021 and given extra resourcing in February in an attempt to tackle youth gang violence in Adelaide’s northern and western suburbs.
