Authorities have begun cleaning up a southern suburbs home overrun run by garbage after neighbours raised concerns about the colossal junk pile in the front yard.

Onkaparinga Council officers and police reportedly entered the Huntfield Heights home on Monday morning to remove the rubbish which had begun building up on a nature strip.

Footage of the clean up appears to show residents of the home tipping fuel on the pile of rubbish.

Neighbours told 7News the pile, from which fridges, Christmas decorations, a massage chair, tools and clothing were removed, had been built up for more than a year.

“It’s just an absolute s*** tip,” Huntfield Heights resident Jason Wrigley told 7News.

“There’s a real menagerie of junk.

“It’s a disgrace, it’s a health issue and a fire hazard.”

Neighbour Ray Lovell told 7News the situation had “got out of control”.

“I don’t think she’ll stop,” Mr Lovell said.

“She’ll start up again.”

Local resident Lisa Howard told 7News she had seen several fridges and coffee machines out the front of the property.

The owner had reportedly planned to sell some of the items online and was unable to meet the councils demands to remove the rubbish because of a disability.

The clean up was reportedly expected to take four days.
