Footage has emerged of a man driving his car while sitting on his open door – with police saying he faces huge fines.

Police are investigating a dangerous driver after footage emerged showing them driving on an Adelaide road while sitting on their car door.

The video, posted on justadelaidethings'’s Instagram page, shows the man steering his Subaru from outside the vehicle and attempting to make an illegal right turn.

The car appears to be going at a slow speed and there are no evident passengers.

Police confirmed they were aware of the matter and are investigating.

A police spokesman said the man in the video may face various charges over the incident including travel on part of vehicle not designed for passengers or goods, travel in motor vehicle with part of body outside vehicle and drive vehicle without proper control of the vehicle.

Each charge is accompanied by a fine of at least $200.

This comes as police are searching for two men who were seen fleeing from a car that flipped in Adelaide’s inner north.

The two male occupants of the Toyota were then seen fleeing from the scene of the crash.

Two women from the second car needed the help of emergency services to get out of their vehicle.

Checks on the Toyota sedan revealed it had been stolen from a Brompton address earlier in the evening.

Both women were taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for assessment.
