83-year-old Copper Coast man’s body found on Port Hughes foreshore

An 83-year-old Copper Coast man has died in a suspected drowning at Port Hughes.

An 83-year-old Copper Coast man has died in what police are treating as a suspected drowning.

About 4.30pm, a member of the public found the man’s body in shallow water on the foreshore at Port Hughes on the Yorke Peninsula and called police.

Emergency services arrived at the foreshore opposite Dowling Dr shortly after.

Police said the man’s death was not being treated as suspicious.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

Port Hughes is a popular holiday destination located about 135km northwest of Adelaide.
