Katy Perry is the latest international headline act to leave Adelaide off an Australian concert tour.
Perry – who is set to perform at the 2024 AFL Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions this weekend – announced she will tour Australia in 2025.
However, Adelaide is not part of her Lifetimes Tour plans.
She will be performing at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on the east coast before heading west to Perth’s RAC Arena.
She joins punk rock heavyweights Green Day, singer Dua Lipa and The Killers as big acts also dodging Adelaide in upcoming tour schedules.
It comes after Taylor Swift, Lizzo and Harry Styles also didn’t come to the South Australian capital during recent visits to the country.
US superstar Post Malone really rubbed salt into South Australian wounds last year, going to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and including smaller centres of Gold Coast, Canberra and Ballarat – but not Adelaide.
Perry told Sunrise on Wednesday morning she was “super keen to announce The Lifetimes tour, and I’m rolling out dates first in Australia.”
“It’s been a long time, but I feel like I’m totally ready for it. It’s a high energy singalong with all the songs that everybody knows and more.”
The tour will kick off in June, and will follow Perry’s performance at the 2024 AFL Grand Final.
