US rapper and singer Post Malone leaves Adelaide off Australian tour, which includes Canberra and Ballarat

Hot on the heels of Taylor Swift, another well-known US singer has left Adelaide off their itinerary – but is going to Canberra and Ballarat.

Being left off Taylor Swift’s itinerary is one thing, but Post Malone’s tour schedule has really rubbed salt into the wound for Adelaide music fans.

The US rapper and singer behind hit songs like Circles and Rockstar announced on Friday that he was heading Down Under in November and December as part of the If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying world tour.

The tour will take in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, along with the smaller centres of Gold Coast, Canberra and Ballarat. But not Adelaide.

The announcement fired up Post Malone fans on social media, with Twitter user DenDogga24 writing, “Post Malone, skipping Adelaide and going to Ballarat is f … ing insane” while over on Facebook fan Christopher Roche commented “they’ll literally play anywhere but Adelaide. Ballarat but not Adelaide? Ahahaa, SMH”.

Last time Malone was in Australia he was denied entry to WA rooftop bar QT Perth due to the venue’s policy of denying punters with “face, neck and offensive tattoos”.

“They turned me away for my tattoos … I’ve never really experienced anything like that,” the artist said at the time.

The snub rounds off a disappointing period for South Australian music fans, with big acts like Lizzo and Harry Styles leaving Adelaide off their tour schedules.

Meanwhile, local punters are eagerly awaiting the announcement of a line up for October’s Harvest Rock Festival, which was supposed to be announced in June.
