Three mega rooms of fun are coming to Rundle Mall, complete with an array of arcade games, a bowling alley, dodgem cars along with interactive challenge rooms inside an immersive hotel.
From the people who brought us Holey Moley, Funlab, come three brand new experiences – Hijinx Hotel, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Strike Bowling.
There’s something for everyone and for every taste.
Try your hand at the bright and brilliant arcade machines, classic bowling, puzzle rooms in the hotel rooms and driving dodgem cars overlooking Rundle Mall.
Be welcomed into the Hijinx Hotel, charming decorated in an Art Deco theme, and check in as though you’re arriving for a holiday.
Do you dare take the elevator to transport you to level 8 for the challenge rooms?
Even though you don’t travel anywhere in the elevator, the illusion is so clever and immersive you actually feel like you’re moving from floor to floor.
The immersive experiences mirror those found in a Disney park, with staff in old-timely hotel uniform or classic arcade garb.
Chief marketing officer of Funlab, Oonagh Flanagan said as soon as patrons walk into the venue they will be “transported to another world”.
“Whether you’re a mum or dad looking for something to do with the kids on the weekend or whether you’re going on a date with someone you want to impress, or even a bucks night, any occasion ultimately we can cater for,” she said.
“You will not put your phone away from the minute you get through the door. Everything here has been designed to make your Insta feed Insta famous.”
There’s something new for your eyes to feast on in every corner, and guests will be delighted with an array of quirky cocktails and food.
There’s the Rub A Dub Tub cocktail, served in a small bathtub, the Mystic Peach served in a unicorn head, and even a cocktail poured into a popcorn bucket, aptly named Pop Til You Drop.
The food offerings include classics such as burgers, pizzas, tacos, nachos and finger foods.
The fries are even served in a miniature shopping trolley and the mammoth burgers on podiums.
“There’s something for everyone and I think every detail has been considered,” Ms Flanagan said.
“We’re excited, we’ve seen a massive surge in pre-bookings for the venue so I would say if you want to get in before Christmas, get booking online because things are going off.”
Hijinx Hotel, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Strike Bowling open on November 30 and are located on the first floor of Rundle Place on Rundle Mall.
