Colossal burgers and Bubble O’Bill cocktails: Viral burger restaurant Milky Lane set to open its first store in SA

Burgers dipped in cheese, deep fried Golden Gaytimes and indulgent cocktails – a viral burger restaurant is opening up for the first time in SA. Check out when and where.

Cult burger chain releases craziest item yet

Milky Lane, dubbed as ‘Australia’s number 1 boutique burger brand’, is arriving in Adelaide for the very first time.

The burger joint, known for its colossal, gravity-defying burgers, decadent desserts, and unique cocktails, will reside in the heart of Rundle St in Adelaide’s East End.

Featuring two bars and licensed to 2am, Milky Lane will serve as a hit with not just the kids, but the late night party animals too.

The store will create 70 new jobs, something Milky Lane founder Christian Avant is passionate about.

“Our first South Australian store has been a long time coming, and we’re glad to give such a cool job opportunity to so many locals,” Mr Avant said.

“We are thrilled to have our first store in Adelaide open in such an iconic location and we’re sure locals will absolutely embrace our presence in Rundle St.”

The store will be spread over two levels and will feature murals of classic urban artists like 50 Cent, Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, Rihanna and Kanye West decorating the walls.

The Australian-born brand has a cult following online for their over the top food — including their classic ‘Milky Lane Burger’ to its ‘Chic-Kanye Burger’.

Loaded cocktails – including the iconic Bubble O’Bill ice cream and deep fried Golden Gaytime – are twists on classic Aussie snacks featured on the menu.

With stores already in Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, and Bendigo, Milky Lane’s arrival in Adelaide will bring a highly-anticipated new dining experience to the city.

Milky Lane Adelaide will open in late 2023 at 272 Rundle Street, with the exact date yet to be announced.

This comes as Karen’s Diner, another burger chain that made waves on social media known for its “rude service”, suddenly shut up shop in June after only being open for six months – with one staff member claiming it had been “the worst business I have ever worked for.”

The Advertiser reviewed Karen’s Diner when it opened on East Terrace in December 2022.
