An alleged victim of an attack on Hindley Street over the weekend said she hasn’t been able to get images of blood and the sound of screaming out of her head.
The woman, who has not been not named, was with a group of friends who were confronted in a nightclub by up to eight people, 7News reported.
The attack started at the club, but soon moved onto the street.
Footage obtained by 7News shows what appears to be a man punching someone on the ground.
“I can’t get the images of the blood and the hearing of the screaming and stuff out of my head,” one young woman told 7News.
“Someone grabbed me by the back of the hair and dragged me down and another person punched me again, which was a guy.”
Another young woman told 7News she had been lifted up by her hair, with chunks ripped out.
A young male said he remembered being on the ground “getting kicked and punched in the back and the side of the head”.
The friends were taken to hospital with serious injuries while two suspects were arrested. Police caught up with a 20-year-old Salisbury North woman and 18-year-Davoren Park man on Morphett Street. Both were released on police bail but are expected to face court in August.
The friends are hoping to get “some sort of justice” following the attack.
