She is believed to have undergone multiple surgeries at Royal Adelaide Hospital in an attempt to save her life before police revealed on Tuesday that she had died.

Loved ones rushed to social media to mourn the “forever 19” young woman in public Facebook posts, before close friend Alexie McIellen set up a GoFundMe fundraising page to help cover funeral costs.

“I’ve made this GoFundMe page on behalf of the Abdulla family to help support the Abdulla family by easing the financial burden of the funeral costs,” Alexie wrote.

“Shakeena was a beloved sister, daughter, friend and family member.”

She said Shakeena would be missed by her four siblings, her parents and numerous friends and members of her extended family.

“Any support would make a great difference during this challenging time,” she wrote.

“Forever 19, gone too soon.”

Shakeena and Chloe died after they were passengers in struck a school bus at the intersection of Mallala Road and Navvy Hill Road at Korunya, near Two Wells, on Friday.

Driver Seth Rigney, 23, of Freeling, has been charged over the crash.
