A former reality television star and SANFL footballer, who was once described as one of the state’s most eligible bachelors, is behind bars on remand charged over a significant Adelaide drug bust.

Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives arrested former Married At First Sight contestant and topless waiter Sebastian Guilhaus, 35, at his Croydon home on Friday.

Police also seized almost a 1kg of methamphetamine, with a street value worth at least $90,000, during a raid at the inner western suburbs address.

Senior detectives described the haul as “significant”, which came as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

OnlyFans X-rated star Guilhaus, who is a former Woodville-West Torrens 198cm ruckman, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court late on Friday, charged with one count of trafficking in a commercial quantity of methamphetamine.

The colourful Adelaide-based personal trainer, known as “Seb” who has a large following to his adult subscription website, was remanded in custody to reappear later this week for a bail hearing.

Fellow MAFS contestant Hayley Vernon, who starred in an OnlyFans porn film with Guilhaus, said she was “shattered” to hear her friend was in custody.

“I had no idea (about his arrest) until my inbox just now has been slammed with articles of an arrest,” she told her 72,000 Instagram followers.

“What I will say tho (sic) is over the past few months Seb and I had become great friends.

“I knew Seb was struggling with his mental health, gravitating to me to help and guide him – I just wish I had known what was (allegedly) going on so I could of helped him.”

In a statement, the Serious and Organised Crime Branch officer in charge, Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, described the 870g of meth found “as result of this investigation” as major.

“Methamphetamine causes terrible harm to users and to our communities,” he said.

“This seizure is a significant amount and would have a street value of approximately $90,000. “Those who traffic illicit drugs in these amounts do so purely for their own greed, they have no care for others.”

He urged anyone with information about the location, sale or supply of illicit substances to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report it online.

Guilhaus, who describes himself as an “athlete, creator (and) thought provoker”, is prolific on social media where more than 100,000 followers can view increasingly risque content.

Known as a “colourful character”, he played for seven Aussie rules clubs during his 13-year career, including the Eagles in the SANFL last year.

SANFL records show he has played 48 games and booted 15 goals.

He returned to Adelaide after starring in the seventh season of the Nine Network’s MAFS reality TV show in 2020 with another contestant Lizzie Sobinoff, 32, before the pair split.

His show biography states he is “eccentric and quirky” after “growing up ridiculously tall and goofy (as) a self conscious teenager who felt inadequate and was low in confidence”.

In 2021 he was named one of Adelaide’s “most eligible singles”.

Guilhaus, who launched his own wellness and fitness coaching business after his reality TV stint, has told how his mental health deteriorated after another failed relationship.

In a social media post earlier this month he told his followers “little bits and pieces about my sabotage”.

“People that have never met me and have glanced at my page or seen me in passing have always assumed … ‘what an egotistical, up himself, flog’ … ‘he loves himself a little too much’,” he wrote on Facebook.

“It’s so funny as I get older and what I’m discovering myself and through therapy … the reality is the complete opposite.”
