Married At First Sight star Seb Guilhaus admits his decision to launch an X-rated OnlyFans account has shocked many of his fans – but he has no regrets.
The former SANFL footballer and his girlfriend Ania Kilic joined the adult subscription website about a month ago, to the dismay of some of his 100,000-plus followers on social media.
But clean-cut Guilhaus, who starred on the 2020 season of the reality TV show, said the couple’s “bold move” has been empowering and helped break down some of the “stigmas” around sex work.
“I know it comes as a massive shock especially from me,” the Adelaide-based personal trainer said.
“I’ve copped it a bit from my followers on Instagram but overall it’s been positive. People have accepted me and acknowledged it’s not forced on anyone.
“Obviously people with fixed views will always regard things in this realm as being offensive.
“There are so many stigmas around work in the sexual realm and there shouldn’t be. It’s a natural part of life and it’s crucial to connection. No one is getting hurt and no one is being forced to subscribe.”
Fans were initially upset with his decision to join OnlyFans, dubbed the “paywall of porn” for its X-rated pictures and videos.
“So your (sic) not the clean cut guy we all thought you were…Now you have to lower yourself to get rich quick…Lost all respect for you now,” wrote one follower on Instagram.
“My branding from the show you might say is that of a gentleman,” conceded Guilhaus.
“I regard myself as having those qualities but also I am human and there is more to me. I’m also very sexual and I like to make choices against the grain.
“I definitely shocked some people that’s for sure but there are other sides of me which I feel good expressing.”
Guilhaus is not the first Adelaide reality TV contestant to join the subscription service.
Paddy Colliar, who starred on The Bachelorette in 2018 and Bachelor in Paradise in 2019, has revealed he will re-launch a solo OnlyFans account on Sunday.
“The way I see it, if you have it then flaunt it,” Colliar said.
“I’m very comfortable in my own skin, I’m a very confident lad. I have always been very cheeky in life and choosing to do this is not degrading or offending anyone. And if it does, I’m sorry that’s your perception.”
Colliar made headlines last year he was stabbed at a party in Para Hills West after going to the aid of a woman.
Olivia Frazer, who featured on this year’s season of MAFS, has also recently suggested she may join OnlyFans with her TV ‘husband’ Jackson Lonie.
Jessika Power, Ines Basic, Hayley Vernon and Mishel Karen are other names to have started lucrative careers on the website.
The move has been already proven to be financially rewarding for Guilhaus and Kilic, with the couple earning $10,000 after less than a month and already sitting in the top 1.9 per cent of all OnlyFans creators.
Guilhaus was matched with MAFS veteran Lizzie Sobinoff on the reality TV show, with the pair being the only couple to stay together after the show aired.
The couple split in January last year, with Guilhaus – who was named one of The Advertiser’s most eligible singles in 2021 – moving on with social worker Kilic in September.
“This is something we agreed which would be amazing for us personally and amazing for our connection and relationship,” he said.
“Family has been fine with it as long as both Ania and myself are happy and are mentally coping.”
