Labor’s Amanda Rishworth has been re-elected for her fifth term as the member for Kingston.

Ms Rishworth, who was first elected to her southern suburbs seat in 2007, said she had been “overwhelmed” by the amount of support from her community, with early numbers indicating she had again increased her primary vote.

With 75 per cent of the vote counted, she was leading the two-party preferred vote 62% to 38%.

“There have only been a few booths counted but it’s looking positive,’’ she said earlier last night.

Labor’s shadow minister for early childhood education said she had run a “grassroots’’ campaign.

She said people had been worried about government services such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme, health and Centrelink as well as the cost of living.

Her priorities for her fifth term include the $4.6 million expansion of the Noarlunga Hospital.

She will also soon become a mum for the second time.

“My husband is taking 12 months parental leave so I can keep doing my job,’’ she said.
