Nearly a week after Dylan Stuart’s body was found in the state’s Far North, his distressed girlfriend is still in disbelief.
In an emotional online tribute, Ms Thomson said she was struggling to comprehend her loss.
“I don’t even know what to say, or where to start, reality hasn’t quite hit me just yet,” Ms Thomson said on Facebook on Sunday evening.
“I’m just waiting for you to walk through the door and start shit stirring me straight away as you do best, or ask me to make you a feed.”
The pair became bogged about 90km north of Roxby Downs on Saturday, February 26.
Emergency services crews were alerted to the missing pair the following day after family could not contact them.
A large scale search was launched and Ms Thomson, 24, was located on Monday, February 28, along the creek line about 100km north of Roxby Downs.
She had left their bogged vehicle on foot, after Mr Stuart had not returned to the 4WD for several hours on Saturday despite leaving on a motorbike to seek help.
Ms Thomson was treated for dehydration, and Mr Stuart’s body was sadly located on Tuesday near Gregory Creek, about 100km north of Roxby Downs.
Ms Thomson said she knows her partner was watching over her.
“The things I would do just to hear your voice and feel your touch just one more time,” Ms Thomson said.
“Love is a bond that death cannot part, gone from my arms, but forever held in my heart.”
She said she would continue to love Mr Stuart forever.
“Fly high up there my king, I’m sure you’re up to mischief already, I know you’ll be watching over me.”
It is believed Mr Stuart’s motorbike broke down leaving him stranded, and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
