Body of Dylan Stuart, 29, who left partner with 4WD after it became bogged 90km north of Roxby Downs on Saturday found

The search for a man who has been missing in the state’s Far North since Saturday has come to a tragic end, after his body was found on Tuesday.

The body of a man who went missing in the Far North on Saturday has been found.

It is understood Dylan Stuart, 29, of Roxby Downs, and Danika Thomson, 24, also of Roxby Downs, became bogged in their 4WD near Junction Dam on the Stuart Creek Station, about 90km north of Roxby Downs.

Mr Stuart rode off on a motorbike to seek assistance while the Ms Thomson, his partner, remained in the car.

After waiting several hours for Mr Stuart’s return Ms Thomson left on foot.

Concerned family alerted police to the missing pair about 2.30pm Sunday after they could not contact their travelling family members.

Ms Thomson was found by police air rescue in the creek line about 100km north of Roxby Downs at 1.15pm on Monday.

She was taken to the Roxby Downs Hospital for treatment of dehydration.

Police resumed the search at first light on Tuesday with the assistance of the police helicopter, STAR Group, local station owners, family and a fixed wing aircraft.

Mr Stuart’s body was found near Gregory Creek, about 100km north of Roxby Downs, about 2pm.

There are no suspicious circumstances in the man’s death and police are preparing a report for the State Coroner.

In January 2021, a Findon couple became bogged in remote South Australian outback having to walk to Innamincka to seek help.

The couple left notes on various abandoned vehicles along the way, and were eventually rescued with dog Loki by a remote Santos worker.
