A bust water main at the intersection of two bust water main roads has caused traffic chaos on Thursday afternoon.
South Australian Police are at the scene of a burst water main that sparked around 12.20pm at the intersection of Grand Junction Rd and Main North Rd, Gepps Cross.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area with the incident causing significant traffic delays in all directions.
In a statement to The Advertiser, a SA Water spokesman said crews are at the scene working to quickly and safely repair the water main break.
“The incident was reported at around 12:20pm, with a field technician arriving on site in approximately 30 minutes to turn off the water supply,” the spokesman said.
“Traffic management is in place, with detours for southbound traffic on Port Wakefield Road and restrictions for vehicles turning right from Main North Road onto Grand Junction Road.
“We apologise for any inconvenience, and assure the community that we are working as quickly and safely as possible to complete repairs.”
