An expansive childcare centre and bulky-goods outlet would be built in Adelaide’s western suburbs, under a new proposal.

Developer Antunes Group has sought approval to build a massive new warehouse with three stores, and a childcare centre on the corner of Sutton Tce and Richmond Rd at Marleston, across from the former TAFE site.

The 1651 sqm childcare centre would boast six activity rooms, two sleeping rooms, both with eight and six beds, a foyer, a reception area, a parent meeting room and 113 car parks.

It would also feature an office, a kitchen fitted with a pantry, a staffroom with an internal courtyard, and two washrooms.

It will have capacity for 104 children and 17 staff members.

The childcare centre would cater for newborns up to kids aged five years old, with different sized rooms and an outdoor play area.

The childcare centre and outlet would have 113 available car parks.

Next to the centre, a 4237 sqm warehouse would be built for two large stores and one smaller one - all with large doors.

The former Marleston TAFE site was redeveloped in a $60m project to create Marleston Village, featuring six stores such as Totally Workwear, Cheap As Chips, Repco, Baby Bunting, Beaumont Titles and Savers.

Public consultation is available until Tuesday, April 29.
