An elderly man has died after an accident involving a four-wheel-drive.

An 80-year-old Campbelltown man has died after being struck by a four-wheel-drive towing a trailer.

Emergency services were called to Clairville Road just after 1.20pm on Monday afternoon following reports of the collision.

The local man died at the scene.

The driver of the four-wheel-drive, a 68-year-old man, and his passenger, a 69-year-old man, both from Athelstone, did not suffer injuries.

Clairville Rd, Hambledon Rd and Mundon St have all reopened.

The man is the 50th person to die on South Australian roads this year.

Major Crash officers are investigating the circumstances around the fatal collision and are asking anyone who saw this incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the street to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

Serious crash in Mid North

Meanwhile, emergency services were called to the scene of a serious crash in the state’s Mid North after a vehicle rolled over on the Augusta Highway about 5.10pm on Monday.

The incident, which occurred at Warnertown, resulted in debris affecting southbound traffic on the busy road.

Motorists have been asked to slow down and take care in the area.
